CANCELLED

From Leipzig to London

Wednesday 18 November 2020 at 7.30pm - St Botolph's Church
The Brook Street Band
Picture
A fictional meeting between Bach and Handel, the two greatest musicians of the baroque era, contrasting the huge variety within their music. The best elements of Bach’s strict Lutheran Germany and Handel’s decadent London combine to enable this creativity to flourish, spirituality and joie de vivre combining, to create an unforgettable event. This is music to feed the soul and calm the mind in these testing times.

Cancellation of CEM concerts for March, April and May

We are very sorry to announce that, because of the COVID-19 outbreak, we are cancelling our concerts planned for 19 March (Voces8/ROOTS/Choral Dances) and for 14 April (Elina Mustonen/ Her Infinite Variety: Women of Shakespeare in Words and Music). It may prove possible to rearrange these concerts at a later date or to offer a filmed version.
We will be in contact with everyone who has bought tickets for these two concerts to arrange a refund unless you tell us otherwise: for example, if you would like to keep a credit against a future concert or you are generously willing to convert your ticket payment into a donation to CEM.
N.B. Bookings will close one day before the concert. Tickets will still be available on the door.

The Friends of Cambridge Early Music have joined up with the Hughes Hall Music Society to found Insight, a series of early music events with a difference, taking place in the Pavilion Room, Hughes Hall, Mortimer Road, Cambridge CB1 2EW.

Tickets are free but booking is essential; please contact friends@cambridgeearlymusic.org or telephone 01223 411762.
