The Revolutionary Drawing Room
The revolutions of Europe are raging outside the windows – and the musicians of the day are entertaining their employers in the drawing rooms of Vienna, Paris and London. The music is not genteel however. The sense of exploration and experimentation with new ideas is very much present in the new chamber works by Schubert, among others.
Adrian Butterfield and friends specialise in music from this period in Europe, and have been described as “…a formidable quartet, whose virtuosity is matched by their insightful attention to every detail.” EARLY MUSIC REVIEW
