Meet Chiara Margarita Cozzolani – singer, nun and composer of genius. Cozzolani spent her life in a convent, but her music soared free, creating sounds and sacred dramas of intimate beauty and blazing imaginative power. From the visceral drama of her 1650 Vespers settings to intimate, theatrical dialogues, Cozzolani’s voice emerges as bold, sensuous and uncompromising. Experience this direct contemporary of Monteverdi in music which is trailblazing and moving in equal measure.
Described as “sublime, spirited…completely assured” (The Arts Desk), Echo Vocal Ensemble is an adventurous group of singers known for their flexibility, innovation and excellence. Under the direction of dynamic conductor Sarah Latto, Echo aims to explore the full range of what ensemble singing can achieve, including improvisation and audience-immersive concert experiences.
