The Marian Consort
The Marian Consort explores loss and lament in sacred music by Tudor composers and new works by Ben Rowarth and Donna McKevitt. The Lamentations of Jeremiah, that speak of the desolation of a once great city, are given extraordinary musical responses by Thomas Tallis and Osbert Parsley. McKevitt’s Lament 16 inhabits a cycle of personal grief, whilst works by Parsons, Rowarth and Clemens appeal for redemption and salvation. With spoken introductions by Rory McCleery.
