Welcome to our new website! Have a look around and see what fabulous concerts and events we have planned for 2015/16...
Next up: Florilegium on 27 September 2015 perform Mozart and Salomon's arrangements of Haydn's London Symphonies on period instruments. Book tickets through our Events Calendar. We are very sorry that Saturday evening’s concert by Stile Antico in Trinity College Chapel had to be abandoned.
A member of the audience became suddenly very ill at the end of the first half of the concert. The emergency services were immediately called and medical assistance was given by off-duty doctors attending the concert. A first responder arrived and was able to stabilise the individual; it was decided, however, that the patient should not be removed from the venue without the assistance of an ambulance crew. This was of course a difficult and sensitive situation. Initially it seemed likely that the ambulance would come quickly, but – following the initial treatment and diagnosis – the individual was designated a low priority, and it eventually became clear that it was not possible to obtain an estimated arrival time for the ambulance. Because of this continuing uncertainty, we felt we had no option but to abandon the concert. We apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience this incident caused. While our costs remain unchanged, we consider it only fair to offer audience members who wish to do so to claim a refund of up to 50%. Those with pre-paid tickets may do this by emailing info@cambridgeearlymusic.org: this will be processed through PayPal. Audience members who purchased tickets in cash, or by cheque on the door, will need to provide additional bank details. Please note that refunds for this event cannot be processed after 11 September. Stile Antico were very understanding about the situation, and will be returning to perform in our concert series on Saturday 29 October 2016. Thank you all for your patience and understanding. Our thoughts are with the individual concerned. |
