Festival of the Voice
Thursday 10 May – Sunday 13 May 2018
A celebration of choral repertoire in the hallowed chapels of St John’s College, King's College and Gonville & Caius College Cambridge, our 2018 Festival of the Voice (10–13 May) showcases exceptional home-grown talent which is now internationally regarded.
The Festival opens on Thursday 10 May with a performance by the Fieri Consort, winners of the Cambridge Early Music Prize at the 2017 York Early Music Festival Young Artist Competition.
The Marian Consort perform on 11 and 12 May, and we also welcome Spanish ensemble Musica Ficta and their charismatic director Raúl Mallavibarrena.
Especially for festival week, services by the world renowned choirs of St John’s College, Gonville & Caius College and King’s College feature works by the greatest composers of the Renaissance and Baroque.
A prelude to the Festival will be provided on Saturday 5 May by Professor Deborah Howard, who will give a talk at Hughes Hall on the architecture of sacred spaces in Venice.
