7.30pm, Saturday 3 May, 2014
Trinity College Chapel, Cambridge
Tickets:  £30.00,  £25.00
The final concert in this year's Festival of the Voice epitomises the 40 years of The Hilliard Ensemble's outstanding achievement.
We bring together three generations of vocal ensembles, in a programme which crosses the ages and geographical borders. The dynamic new ensemble Eo Nomine sings Wilbye, Tomkins, Monteverdi, Gesualdo and Schütz. Singer Pur offer a Festival first with music by Brahms, Sting, and Cole Porter. amarcord sing Jean Cras and join The Hilliard Ensemble in a work by Roger Marsh; and we hear Japanese folksongs by Toshio Hosokawa.
The climax of the Festival comes when conductor Sarah Tenant-Flowers directs a performance of Orlando Gough's Hand over Hand, given by all four vocal ensembles.
