The American basso profundo accompanies himself on the lute and archlute in songs by Dowland, Willaert, Marini,
Johnson, Attaignant and Caccini.
Joel Frederiksen has a busy international solo
career in opera and oratorio with the likes of Paul O'Dette and Jordi Savall, as well as in smaller-scale
"Frederiksen is at the moment the only singer to master the art of self-accompanying to the
lute at the highest level. He has at his disposal an astonishing range of vocal registers and styles.

Orpheus, I am
O let us howl
There is a lady sweete and kinde
Breake now my hearte and dye
Can she excuse
Time stands still
Arms, arms, arms
Go from my window
Fortune, my foe
Fortuna, laisse moy la vie
Louis de Rigaud:
Amour grand vainquer des vainquers
Qui veut chasser une migraine
